Michele Tuck Ponder, Esq. is a problem solver with an extensive background in politics, government, media relations and public policy.
Michele is on sabbatical from the full-time practice of law as she leads, as Executive Director, and revamps the Women’s Fund of New Jersey, a non-profit organization focused on local and national issues concerning women. However, Michele continues to work on solving special legal problems concerning government, employment and political matters.
A former mayor of Princeton Township (New Jersey), she has served as assistant counsel to Governor Jim Florio, and assistant director of the New Jersey Division on Women and New Jersey. Most recently, she was the CEO/Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Delaware-Raritan, Inc. Michele Tuck Ponder also held positions as the Division on Civil Rights, director of development, Director of public affairs at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and congressional aide to both former US Representative Louis Stokes and Senator Frank Lautenberg. She also was a community builder fellow with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in Camden.
A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Tuck-Ponder has also been an instructor at both Rutgers and Princeton Universities.
Michele loves to cook, travel and appear on talk shows. Recently she was a guest on the Dr. Oz Show and she traveled to the Congo on a missionary trip to deliver medicine to communities devastated by river blindness.
She is married to her law and life partner Rhinold Lamar Ponder.Together, they co-authored two books, a collection of sermons on Faith and Love, published by Random House
